CPA NL Covid-19 Update

A lot has changed since our last COVID-19 update on March 17th, a few key changes with respect to our operation and processes are listed here.

Visitors to CPA Newfoundland and Labrador

The Association has successfully transitioned to a remote work environment. Our office is closed to visitors and we have enabled all employees to work from home until further notice. Our staff remain fully available via email and phone in the same manner as normal. To reach any of the staff by phone, please call our office line at 709.753.3090 and select the appropriate person from the auto attendant listing, this will patch you through directly to the individual's home work environment.

Membership Renewal Late Fee Deadline Extended

Membership renewal is payable by April 1, 2020 in accordance with our bylaws, we encourage those in a position to do so, to please proceed to meet the deadline. However, due to the circumstances of COVID-19, we understand that timely renewals may be challenging for some members and employers. With this in mind, the late fee deadline is extended to May 31, 2020, with further adjustment possible based on the situation.

For any questions regarding membership renewal, contact dperry@cpanl.ca.

Member Certificates and Public Accounting Permits

While we will continue to process Membership changes and Public Accounting Licences, we have suspended the mailing or pick up of these items. As always, a listing of Licensed Public Accountants is available on our website and you can verify a Member is in good standing by contacting the Association, contact dperry@cpanl.ca.

Professional Development

In the event you are looking to complete some professional development while working remotely our on-demand courses remain available, you can find a selection of courses at mycpawebservices.ca under the events tab. We are working with our provincial partners and suppliers in an attempt to add to the selection of online courses.

Keeping Informed

We encourage you to follow us on Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, where we will share news as it emerges, we are also working on a dedicated space on our website to share key information for Members related to COVID-19, we hope to have it available in the coming days.

We hope you and your families are doing well and staying safe and healthy.

Thanks,
