Strategic Change by Design: How to Set Up Change for Success

70% of change in organizations fails. What are you or your clients going to do differently to succeed?  There are two significant contributors to organization change failures. Unclear purpose leads to resistance and people going in different directions directed by their own interpretations.

Sometimes people are not even aware they have different interpretations and are perplexed they are in conflict. Lack of understanding of the scope and impact of the change can also lead to conflict, as well as design gaps, solution errors and insufficient preparation. The best way to address both these challenges, unclear purpose and lack of understanding of scope and impact, is to identify them during the business case development and resolve them early in the planning and design of the change.

Learning Objectives:
In this course you will gain practical understanding of how to setup change for success right from the start including:
- Using an iterative framework for designing and executing change to reduce risk and improve ROI that builds on Prosci’s ADKARTM, Kotter’s 8 Steps, design thinking, and neuroscience.
- Why and how to develop a clear and compelling change purpose.
- Why and how to develop a practical understanding of change scope and impact.
- Why change ownership is critical and how it should be allocated.
- Why change resistance is a symptom and what are the underlying causes to address.
- Why and when and how to engage impacted stakeholders to improve results, reduce stress and reduce cost and effort.

Learning Outcomes:
You will learn and gain confidence in using practical methods and simple visual tools that facilitate:
- Clear and compelling communication and understanding of the purpose, scope, and impact of the change.
- Identifying hidden risks and critical success factors specific to the change.
- Bringing everyone on board moving forward in the same direction, committed to success.

Program Schedule:
Learning is through a structured and interactive cohort consisting of 10 hours over 3 weeks using an intuitive learning management system. Learning activities allow opportunity for reflection and group interaction to optimize your time and effort.
